Natural History Observations

Observing Nature

January 1, 2020 - Getting outside and observing nature is the basis of science. Our natural world is the reality we live in, and learning to observe nature is the best way to learn how to live sustainably and truly conserve rare species and habitats. For 2020, Basin and Range Watch will be emphasizing this more and more. We need to teach kids how to get outside and learn directly from the natural world. Direct observation of the biodiversity, geology, climate, and other wonders of nature leads to an understanding of how to do science, how to write better journalism, how to fight climate change, and how to detect "fake news" and many other benefits.
